\nThe roots in the heart of Varenna\n<\/h2>
\nThe building that welcomes you today has its roots in the late 1700s and early 1800s, in the heart of the historic centre of one of Italy's most enchanting villages. A pure expression of the local architectural tradition, the structure is built around a small internal courtyard \u2014 a typical feature that gives the guesthouse its name \u2014 and overlooks the picturesque alleys leading to Villa Monastero, Villa Cipressi, and Piazza San Giorgio. Before becoming La Corte del Lario, these spaces hosted generations of Varenna life, retaining that timeless charm made of stone, silence, and breathtaking lake views.\n<\/div>

\nThe restoration of Corte del Lario was guided by a precise mission: to preserve the building's historic soul while integrating it with the most modern design and comfort solutions. We didn't just want to renovate, but to enhance. Every choice was made with respect for the original context, recovering the exposed stone walls that characterise the rooms and maintaining the high ceilings with wooden beams in the upper suites.
